UX/UI Design

We accompany you from the first draft to the finished product –

UX concept, design and development from a single source.

UX UI Collobration

We take a holistic approach to digital projects, with UX/UI designers as part of the development team at drunomics. This close collaboration ensures that design ideas are reviewed for technical feasibility early on. This results in concepts that are not only aligned with your business goals and user needs, but also fit your timeframe and budget.

User Experience (UX) expertise – tailored to your project

drunomics offers a wide range of UX services: During the conceptual phases, we offer UX strategy workshops, user research, and usability testing based on prototypes or competitive testing (testing competitor solutions), or specific methods such as card sorting to develop a well-structured information architecture as the basis for navigation design. After go-live, we can conduct usability studies using the actual system and measure success using UX KPIs such as user satisfaction and conversion rate, among others, and further optimize the solution based on the results. We provide transparent advice on which method or tool is appropriate and practical for each phase and problem, tailoring our offering to your project, your requirements, and the available resources.

Ready for Better User Experience?

Let's talk about your project.

Interaction Design

In interaction design, our experts translate user needs and use cases into concrete processes. The interaction between users and the product is designed to be as understandable, efficient, and intuitive as possible. Processes and structures are visualized, for example, using wireframes or simple click dummies.

User Interface (UI) Design

UI design involves the visual design of the user interface. Our team implements proven design principles and UI patterns to ensure a good user experience and efficient implementation. We integrate your brand's visual identity, consider existing corporate design guidelines, and contribute new ideas and design inspiration.

The depth and structure of our UI designs depend on the size and complexity of the project: while a compact library of reusable components and style specifications is often perfectly sufficient for smaller or short-term solutions, large, long-term, or particularly complex projects benefit from the development and maintenance of a complete design system. This centralized collection of UI elements and design principles ensures consistency in the user experience. Changes or new features can be implemented centrally and efficiently applied to all areas. This saves time in the long run, prevents errors, and ensures a consistent appearance. Of course, we also adopt existing design systems, apply them, or further develop them.

Accessibility by Design

For drunomics, accessibility is not an afterthought, but an integral part of our UX/UI process. From the outset, we focus on clear structures and the best possible usability for all target groups. When integrating existing corporate design guidelines, we sensitively adapt color contrasts and typography to accessibility standards where necessary. In the technical implementation, we consider compliance with the EU directive (European Accessibility Act) and the international WCAG 2.1 guideline.

Prototyping

In each project phase, we work together to determine which prototyping approach will most efficiently achieve the best solution, depending on the task, budget, and timeframe. The chosen level of fidelity and scope are determined by what makes sense at the time. Wireframes or simple click dummies are often sufficient for quickly coordinating and testing early ideas. We rely on sophisticated high-fidelity prototypes of specific processes or functionalities when a near-real user interface is needed to engage stakeholders or test with users.

Our process – UX/UI as part of the agile development process

At drunomics, product development is based on agile methods with the goal of delivering high-quality and functional partial results in short time periods – the so-called sprints.

UX UI Scrum process

We integrate UX/UI into the Scrum process via an additional conception or "discovery" track. Here, features and ideas are prepared and coordinated, which are then developed in one of the subsequent sprints. Our designers work closely with the product owner to systematically capture user requirements and flesh out new features. Interaction concepts and designs or initial prototypes are created, and the designers also communicate with the developers to clarify questions about technical feasibility or potentially more efficient alternatives at an early stage.

During the backlog refinement, concrete acceptance criteria are defined together with the product owner and the development team, the technical concept is discussed, and the implementation effort is estimated. The designs are then finalized. Each front-end user story included in the sprint planning phase for the next sprint thus has a mature UI design with clearly defined requirements. If necessary, this design has already been evaluated with users.

During implementation, the designers are in close contact with the developers, clarify any open questions and ensure that the designs are implemented correctly through design reviews.

This structured and transparent approach allows us to identify design issues early and minimize budget risks. This ensures that your project meets the highest standards in terms of technology, content, and user experience, and is continuously improved.
