drunomics Celebrates Sinduri Winning the Women in Drupal Award

18.11.2025,

There is something special about watching a team member's dedication and passion receive the recognition it deserves. When Sinduri Guntupalli took the stage at DrupalCon Europe in Vienna to accept the Build Category award at the Women in Drupal Awards, we couldn't have been prouder.

Sinduri Guntupalli recognized in the Build Category at DrupalCon Vienna 2025 for her dedication to community organizing, advocacy, and open source work.

From Engineering to Open Source

Sinduri's path to this moment is as inspiring as the award itself. After earning degrees in civil engineering in India and environmental engineering in the US, she moved to Vienna in 2017 and discovered her passion for coding. As she joked, "After doing a few German courses, learning to code seemed much easier!" That curiosity led her to Drupal, where she's been making an impact for the past five years.

Building Something Special at drunomics

For more than two years, Sinduri has been an integral part of the mossbo team, our Cloud CMS Ecosystem, serving as Product Manager. When mossbo won both regional and international Splash Awards 2025, plus recognition as the most innovative project, it reflected the collaborative effort and dedication of Sinduri and the entire team. Sinduri brings a powerful combination of technical knowledge and exceptional organizational skills, balancing project details with the big picture to keep teams aligned and productive. What truly distinguishes her is her ability to create a collaborative work environment where everyone feels supported and motivated. Her approachability and composure, even under pressure, make her someone who naturally lifts the entire team while bringing genuine enthusiasm to everything she does.

A Community Champion

What sets Sinduri apart is her unwavering commitment to the Drupal community. Over the past five years, she has:

  • Volunteered at and organized several major Drupal events across Europe
  • Joined the Drupal Austria Board as Marketing Coordinator in 2025
  • Served on DrupalCon Europe 2025's Community Health Track Review Team
  • Regular contributor to Drupal Austria and Drupal Switzerland community outreach and newsletter communications

Jeremy Chinquist, a colleague who has worked closely with Sinduri, put it well: "Most importantly, Sinduri embodies the open community spirit which is central to Drupal and the Open Source movement. She is unafraid to have critical discussions and to debate, whether it be for open source code, democratic values, LGBTQ+ and human rights, or for simply attempting to make the community a better place."

In Her Own Words

When asked about her motivation for contributing to Drupal, Sinduri explained it simply: "My involvement comes down to two things: my passion for open source and the incredible strength of this community. I try to contribute at the grassroots level, because I believe these everyday efforts help keep the community strong. Drupal wouldn't exist without people contributing code, ideas, and energy, and community events create the perfect space for that collaboration to happen."
