Drupal 8

The next version of Drupal - 8 - is already under active development and we are part of it!

Drupal 7 is awesome, but Drupal 8 is even better. Here a very short summary of what's new:

  • Configuration management (CMI) - built-in!
  • Symfony 2 - Drupal 8 builds upon Symfony2 components
  • Full multilingual support of content & configuration - built-in!
  • Restful web services - built in!
  • Views module - built-in!
  • Twig template engine, HTML 5 and a responsive admin interface - built-in!
2012 to 2017

So what are we working on?

drunomic's technical lead Wolfgang "fago" Ziegler's mission is to improve the core Entity system based upon the improvements of his popular Drupal 7 Entity module. That involves not only full CRUD operation support for entities in core, but introducing a new Entity Field API along with the underlying brand new Typed Data API and an Entity validation system based upon the Symfony validator component. Stay tuned and check the blog posts for more details!
